Here Are The Meeting Details

1) Patrick K. 2) In this segment of the meeting we will be discussing the Future Directions for OCEA Ohio Clinical Engineering Association.  Your association has had it’s ups and downs over the last few years and it is time to determine where you want it to go and what you want it to be doing.  Several of the Operations Committee Members are planning their retirement in 2012 and new thinkers and participants are needed to continue making OCEA a happening organization.  We will be conducting some serious planning and talking about where this organization should be headed.  A part of this process includes reviewing the answers to the 2012 Survey that is now being conducted.  Your participation in this important survey is requested.

Below are the survey questions for your review before you actually take the survey.  It is suggested that you print this email and review these questions in advance so you can provide good quality answers.

The 2012 OCEA Survey
“Questions To Help OCEA Move Forward”

Below are the survey questions for your review before you actually take the survey.  It is suggested that you print this email and review these questions in advance so you can provide good quality answers.  EVERYONE is requested to participate.

Educational Topics

What would you like to learn more about?
What areas could we utilize OEM’s for training?
Does your organization have an interest in Benchmarking?
What do you want benchmarked?
What metrics do you use now?
What would you measure if you could?
Would you measure Efficiency of technicians?
Would you measure Cost of Ownership of a device?  i.e.  Acquisition cost + Service Time + Parts Cost + Allocation of Overhead + Cost of Downtime, etc.
How would you measure?  By # of devices — By value of equipment — By modality

Career Pathing

Where do you want to go in your career?
What are the Educational Requirements needed?
Are Management Training options available to you and are you interested?
Are you interested in Cross Training by modality or other methods?
Financial Modeling, Budgeting, Workflow Analysis, Manpower Planning.  Do you need help in any of these areas?  Please list or describe any other area where you feel you need help.

OCEA Committee

Several current committee members will be retiring this year.  New Thinkers and Participants are needed to keep OCEA moving forward.  Managing a state association is a large job responsibility unless it is broken down into smaller parts and it is the work of the individuals doing these smaller parts that result in the overall organization success.  OCEA has a President and four Regional Vice Presidents.  There are other positions such as Secretary, Treasurer, Education Coordinator, and Special Events Manager as well as other positions appointed by the committee.  It is time to review this structure and decide if changes are needed for the future.

Is this the Structure that OCEA should continue with?
If not then how should the structure be set up?
Several possible new committee positions have been identified to help better manage OCEA.  Volunteers are needed for these new positions as well as the old positions being vacated this year:

- Corporate Business Member And Sponsor Liaison
- Individual Member Liaison/Secretary
- Association Research Coordinator
- News And Newsletter Manager
- Information Blog Coordinator
- Information Blog Contributor(s)
- Website Manager
- Meeting Coordinator/Manager
- Online Accounting Manager
- Email Manager

Please offer other suggestions, ideas, and other information that you think will impact this process.  We will discuss all of these items at our upcoming meeting.

I am interested and want to help.  I would like to be contacted by an Operation’s Committee member.  Here is what I would like to do:

Final Thoughts and Additional Comments:
On the survey this is an open box.  Please tell us what you think.

Survey Participation And Online Meeting RSVP

Everyone is asked to participate in this survey whether you are planning on attending one of the upcoming meetings on not.  Your answers are very important and will be used to determine the OCEA future direction.  Those planning on attending one of the meetings are asked to complete the RSVP section of the survey as sppn as possible.  This information is needed to determine how much food will be needed to feed the hungry attendees.  Please send in your RSVP as soon as possible.
Thank you in advance.
