Radiology Workflow: Recognizing the Clinical & Financial Benefits
Rutland Regional Medical Center in Vermont, is a 188-bed rural hospital that effectively weds high-tech imaging with patient-centric care. This high-tech hospital with a hometown touch utilizes an intuitive RIS-PACS-reporting solution in its radiology department that is delivering benefits across the health system. The ability to provide local, state-of-the-art imaging is convenient for patients and referring physicians. It keeps patients close to home, which, in turn, improves the medical center’s bottom line.
This filmless and paperless radiology department utilizes a GE Healthcare Centricity PACS combined with a web-based RIS, Centricity RIS-IC and Centricity Precision Reporting for automated diagnostic reporting. The end result is a productivity leap despite the increased demands on radiologists to read more studies, with more images per exam. Report turnaround time, patient throughout and service to referring physicians have been enhanced, while costs, such as staffing, have been reduced. Hear how they did it.
